America is Paradise.... No It's Not.

Today actually was a busy day. I woke up and talked with my friend for a bit about the night before. I'm really am a hooligan. My aunt called me last minute to tell me that my mother was in the hospital. Thankfully everything is okay. I then went to my doctors appointment. After about a solid two and half hours I got a prescription and three different referrals. What fun I'n going to have in the next few weeks.

I walked down to Old Temecula because it wasn't too far away. I've been craving some wine so I decided to go to this restaurant Crush N Brew. When I'm in Old Temecula I typically go to 1909 for their amazing craft cocktails but since someone recommended me to Crush N Brew and the last time I was at 1909 I shamelessly flirted with this bartender and asked for his number. It was the drunkest I had been in awhile. Anyway I didn't even get wine because I remember Saturday I'm going to a Paint N Sip event that I'm super stocked on. I got a Tom Collins because it was on happy hour. (They have a legit happy hour: all beers $5 limited cocktails and wine $5 and some cheap appetizer) I also got the Slider trio which included their crush burger, brew burger, and old school burger. I enjoyed 2 out of 3. The brew burger had caramelized onions, Portobello and field mushrooms, and Gorgonzola cheese. This one was my favorite on the three. I enjoyed all the savory flavors. It's really all I want in a burger. The old school burger had typical cheddar, lettuce, and sweet pickle. Everything you always expect and stays true to it's name "old school." Now the crush burger has red onion marmalade, brie cheese, and Canadian bacon. Maybe it's me. I have a weird thing with texture. I found the marmalade off putting, too sweet for my taste. But overall the waitress didn't bother me too much and I got everything I needed so it was an enjoyable experience.

I walked a little bit more and called an uber. I really hate talking to people sometimes especially small talk. Today I have been feeling all types of way so I just wanted to talk to someone I didn't know for once. We started with a little chit chat and then we went into a little heavy things. He became an uber driver because he lost his job in an oil company because the whole BP scandal. No clients want to drill for oil so he got laid off. He didn't get any fancy package because he was considered a independent contractor. He decided to move to America. He always heard how it's a paradise here. He found out soon enough it wasn't. "People like to see you struggle here. Neighbors help Neighbors in the Philippines. They'll let you starve here."  This isn't the first time I heard this from an immigrant coming to America and it's kinda sad. The American dream isn't real.
